Aplicaciones de los contrastes ecográficos en el estudio de lesiones focales hepáticas

TRADUCCIÓN
Resumen(en)

The identification of focal liver lesions is a common finding on ultrasounds, both in studies due to the suspicion of lesions and in patients with nonspecific symptoms.

However, the accuracy of this technique for the characterization of these lesions is low due to the variability of sonographic patterns. Doppler adds information about tumor vascularization but its usefulness is limited in deep, low-flow or small vessel lesions, as well as it is also subject to artifacts such as breathing and/or heartbeat. In most cases, once a focal lesion is detected, other imaging techniques are necessary to identify its nature.
