Una presentación atípica de déficit de b12

Resumen

Paciente de 62 años sin patologías de interés que consulta por lesiones dermatológicas que persisten, habiendo sido valorado previamente por Dermatólogo. El estudio realizado para descartar patología orgánica objetiva como causa de dichas lesiones un de déficit de cianocobalamina o B12 siendo la afectación en la piel su primera manifestación. Se completa la evaluación del paciente con la búsqueda de la etiología del déficit llegando a la conclusión de una gastritis atrófica como causa e iniciándose tratamiento con suplementación vitamínica con resolución del cuadro.

Abstract

62 years old patient with other pathologies, which is attended in the Medicine Internal department because of skin lesions which weren´t disappeared and which had been studied by a Dermatologist. The study performed to rule out objective organic pathology as the cause of these lesions was a vitamin B12 or cyanocobalamin deficiency and the effect on the skin was the first manifestation of the illness. After a complete evaluation with the search for the aetiology of the deficit, the conclusion was that atrophic gastritis was the origin of the deficit. Treatment by supplementing with B12 vitamin produced the resolution of the symptoms.
